About this site
PCGameWorld exists because finding a genuinely free PC game that actually installs cleanly is harder than it should be. We do the legwork: download, install, verify, and rate — so you know what you're getting before you run the installer.
What qualifies for a listing
A game earns a listing on PCGameWorld if it is free to keep (freeware, open-source, or a permanently free release), installs without bundled adware, and runs without demanding an account or an internet connection. Shareware and time-limited demos get a clear label; anything that nagged our editor gets a note in the specs.
How we test
Every game is installed on a mid-range desktop (R5 5600, GTX 1070, 16 GB RAM) and a four-year-old budget laptop (Intel Core i5-10210U, Intel UHD). We record the real installer size, real minimum settings to hit 60fps, and any permissions or background processes the game requests. That data goes directly into the spec table.
Editorial policy
Listings and ratings are not for sale. When a developer submits their own game, the review says so. Our editors' scores are their own and are never negotiated with developers or publishers.
Corrections
Download links go dead. Developers update their minimum specs. If you spot something wrong, use the contact page — we aim to fix factual errors within 48 hours.
