Meet the strategist and the shooter Natural Selection 2 is a FPS/RTS game in one! Human and alien teams each have a Commander. A commander views the battlefield and issues orders, places structures, collects resources, researches technology, and deploys capabilities. Suppose a human Commander dropped health packs and ammunition to a trapped marine squad, then deployed sentry guns to help defend the position. Perhaps the alien Commander will establish a new hive within newly captured territory, spreading the infestation and spawning more alien eggs. Two sides to the story As a player of Alien 3, players choose from five lifeforms: The fast and ferocious Skulk attacks with its jaws to deliver massive damage. When their teammates are in battle, Lerks fly and shoot gasses. Gorges heal other lifeforms and construct tunnels, turrets, walls, and other tactical structures. The fades blink in and out of battle, picking off marines with giant scythes. Even entire marine squads are unable to overcome the giant Onos.
